Spring and Garden

Spring is upon us! This week we introduced the theme "Spring and Gardens". We will discuss the way plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables grow,  what these things need to grow (water and sunlight) and how we keep a garden alive.

The playground padding got replaced and we loved watching the men mix it and lay it on the ground!

In math, we put the beads on the pipe cleaners to match the numbers.

The counting tubes were also fun. The balls go into the tubes to match the number.

JOURNALS: What would your garden look like?

Brainstorming what we know about gardens and spring was fun!

Circle time question: "Do you have a garden at home?"

Ms. Amy worked with us on cutting letters out to make the word "SPRING" and following directions to color the spring picture.

SPRING SCAVENGER HUNT:
There were many items on our list to look for outside on our spring scavenger hunt!

ART:
Nancy Rourke was a deaf artist that uses primary colors in her art work. Today we used red, blue and yellow to make our "LOVE" sign language picture.

MATH:
We made pom pom gardens! Matching the number of pom poms to the number at the top of the page got harder as the numbers got bigger.

Dora's picnic was a great puzzle, we worked together!

Seeds! How do the seeds look? What shape are they? What color flowers do you think will grow from them?

The Fish Room Flower Shop is open! What would you like?  Pink flowers, yellow flowers with an orange or blue flowers?

Would you like your flowers in a vase or in tissue paper?

In Ms. Amy's group, we practiced listening to the sounds of the words she said so we could write it.

We practiced patterning spring items and matching shapes and numbers.

This week we are reviewing letters.

"Jack and the Beanstalk" was a good book. We also dotted how many syllables the pictures from "Jack and The Beanstalk" had.

Today we planted grass seeds. We brainstormed the steps we needed to follow to plant the seeds and help the grass to grow.

There was an old lady who swallowed some letters! Ms. Amy reviewed letters with us, the old lady ate certain letters she saw.
SHOW-N-TELL:
Ryan brought Mickey mouse and Shawn brought a dinosaur!

   Worms and big room fun!
