Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
This week we introduced the theme "Pets". We brainstormed what animals can be pets, what pets need, where pets live, and how to care of pets.
SECOND STEPS: Julia came today and we discussed focusing on watching the person talking.
We used shapes to make different animals.
In music, we played the triangles.
We worked on cutting pets out to make a pet collage. We talked about what a pet is, what pet we wish we had and what we would name that pet. Olivia, Matthew, Roman and Ryan want a dog and Shawn wants a hamster!
Ms. Erin read "The Pet Shop".
In art, we were mixing magicians. We used red, yellow and blue to make new colors!
"Fish Room Pet Shop" opened up today! We brainstormed what a pet is, what pets needs, where you go to buy pet supplies and how you take care of pets.
Shawn got a hamster.
Olivia bought a pet cat.
We discussed the importance of a salesperson and how they help the customer.
In math, we used beads to count the number of pets on the sheet.
We used pet food to make some painted art this afternoon.
Ms. Erin read "Harry the dirty Dog" and we put triangles on the letter T.
WEDNESDAY:
We worked on the letter T activities this morning. We looked at the big T and little t. We dobbed T, cut triangles, and worked on the number two.
Using pattern blocks to make animals with different shapes was fun.
Olivia is our "Star/Student of the week".
Ms. Lexi read "Not Norman". We practiced answering a variety of -wh questions about the story. We also practiced telling what happened in the beginning, the middle, and the end.
"Doggy Doggy where's your bone" was a fun game! Someone hide in and the other friends had to guess who had the bone.
"POP!" was another fun game we played. We had to name the letter, shape or number on the card but if someone got the "POP" card, we had to start over.
Outside is always fun!
Betty White did a great job at reading "Harry the Dog". The Fish friends have A LOT to say about this book. Ask them what happened in the story.
In math, we rolled the dice and dobbed that many dots on our harry the dirty dog.
