Winter

 This week we introduced the theme "Winter". We brainstormed what the season of winter is like, how the weather feels, and the different warm clothes we wear in winter, and things we can do in winter. 

Matthew and Olivia counted winter objects and had to circle the correct number in their math book. They also made a pair of mittens. We discussed how a pair of mittens looks the same and are the same color or have the same patterns.

In circle we described things we need to play in the snow in winter. Coat, hat, mittens and gloves were some of the items we may need. 

"B" this week's  letter is B. 2 small curves and a big line makes a "B."

Shaving cream letters was fun! 

Olivia and Ryan made a domino train! 

In art, we had a party. We used paint sticks and dobbers to make pictures. 

Winter is for Snowflakes was a good book introducing some of our vocabulary of winter clothes and things to do in winter. 

Brainstorming things we use, wear or need in winter was fun! We even created our own stories and had to listen to each other and remember with our friends and teachers said.

We read, Sadie and the Snowman and made brown bears to practice our letter B formation. 

Blue B's were an activity we did along with coloring B words and cutting snowmen out and putting them in order from shortest to tallest. 

Olivia and Matthew took turns being the teacher and describing the snowmen. We had to use 3 clues to describe the snowman and have the other friend guess. 

Winter pattern was Thursday's circle activity. 

In this activity, we practiced how many items were on the board and use the plural sound., hatS, mitten, gloves, scarves, coat, etc

In math, we rolled the dice to build our snowman. We had to identify the amount and match it to the item to draw on our snowman.

"Teddy is Ready" was a book we colored by following directions. 

It's January! We counted to 7 and discussed January's holidays. 

Olivia and Matthew brought show n tell today. Matthew brought a pop it fidget spinner and Olivia brought a stuffed hamster. 

We read, "Sneezy the Snowman and made snowy play dough. 

Snowman at Night was a good book, afterwards we made our own snowman at night pictures.  We had to recall what the snowmen did in the book

The letter B had lots of /b/ words to go with it.
