Wednesday and Thursday

Today (Wednesday) we made a pumpkin pie! We had to measure ingredients, stir the ingredients, and pour it in the crust. We took the pie down to the oven to bake. We talked about all of the items needed to make a pie and worked on sequencing the steps from a recipe. We also practiced using our sequencing words: first, then, next, etc. We worked on counting, spelling and color by number with Thanksgiving vocabulary.  Food patterns were a circle time activity Wednesday. We are getting good at ABAB, AABAAB, AABB, and ABC patterns. In math we worked on mazes and tracing our hands to make turkeys.  Our Thanksgiving meal was so good. We took turns making food, prepping food and sharing the food with our family. We played family and had different roles and working together to role play those characters.  Pumpkin pie was a hit! Most of us liked it.  THURSDAY:  SECOND STEPS: We brainstormed ways to show we are mad or sad and how we can tell how our friends are feelings, e...

Thanksgiving

We counted how many friends like turkey and how many friends don't like turkey.  JOURNALS: We drew what we will eat for Thanksgiving. Many friends seem to like pumpkin pie! In math we drew what we are thankful for at home, school and outside.  In music, we sang lots of thanksgiving and turkey songs, danced with scarfs and each played a wooden instrument that sounded like a frog. " Turkey Trouble " was a silly book where the turkey wanted to disguise as different animals so he wouldn't get eaten.    TUESDAY:  SECOND STEPS: In todays discussion, we talked about feelings and how we can use a friends' visual cues to show how they are feeling: happy , sad, mad, excit...
