Wednesday and Thursday
Today (Wednesday) we made a pumpkin pie! We had to measure ingredients, stir the ingredients, and pour it in the crust. We took the pie down to the oven to bake. We talked about all of the items needed to make a pie and worked on sequencing the steps from a recipe. We also practiced using our sequencing words: first, then, next, etc.
We worked on counting, spelling and color by number with Thanksgiving vocabulary.
Food patterns were a circle time activity Wednesday. We are getting good at ABAB, AABAAB, AABB, and ABC patterns.
In math we worked on mazes and tracing our hands to make turkeys.
Our Thanksgiving meal was so good. We took turns making food, prepping food and sharing the food with our family. We played family and had different roles and working together to role play those characters.
Pumpkin pie was a hit! Most of us liked it.
THURSDAY:
SECOND STEPS: We brainstormed ways to show we are mad or sad and how we can tell how our friends are feelings, even under a mask. We also practice using a friends face cues to tell how they are feeling.
We worked on counting food, sorting turkey shapes, and making thankful leaves for our tree at small group.
In Big Room, we played legos and explored the science items and toys.
WE ARE THANKFUL!
We had a chance to be artistic during our feather painting! Each of us picked the color we wanted and painted with a feather.
Above, below, beside, between, under and over are the words we used to make this Thanksgiving picture collage.
This afternoon we watched a parade and a football game to practice that vocabulary. We also reviewed the book "A Turkey for Thanksgiving" and sorted pictures by beginning letter sounds. We worked on C, P, S, T.
