Construction, part 2

This week we continued learning about construction and repair shop. We took turns being the customer and the repair (wo)man. Lots of things needed fixing around the Fish room.

We counted tools and discussed "more and less" with numbers.

TOOL BELTS:

Blippi showed us his tool box and tool belt. We learned ways to fix things and discussed how things would be fixed with certain tools.

TOOL BOXES

We reviewed tools that we may use to fix something and placed them in our tool box.  The students used the sentence structure: We use a _____ to _____.  We use a hammer to hammer nails in wood.

TOOLS VS. NOT TOOL activity

Lacing tools and hammering golf tees in styrofoam.

The fish friends love playing repair man, playing with gravel and cars, and building with blocks.

Ellie has been playing games with our friends. Turn taking, patience and encouragement are all practiced while playing games.

Tool number matching to the correct number of dots.

Drilling screws was a great activity!

Construction Words: Fish friends are doing really well writing their words and keeping their letters the same size!

Ryan and Olivia enjoyed reading construction books.

Legos, recess and show-n-tell. Today Ms. Amy brought Ms. Erin and baby Jace for show-n-tell!
