POST OFFICE/SCIENCE
What a crazy few weeks we have had! Thanks for participating in the AMI activities, we hope you had fun! You never know what the weather will bring!
Last week and this week's letter is "N". We made night N's with stars, clouds and a moon.
Writing letters to mom and dad was fun!
We worked really hard cutting out mail pictures to glue on our envelope.
We sang a song about mailing valentines to teach other. We each got a letter and Ms. Erin collected our letters and sang the song. We had to remember and count how many valentines were in the bag.
"Corduroy" was a cute book about a friendship and how Corduroy found his forever home. Ask me about Corduroy's button.
We made our own mailboxes and decorated our own stamps.
SCIENCE:
We worked really hard using stencils to make pictures and to count.
"Guess Whose Shadow" was a great book to introduce how shadows work. We discussed when we may see a shadow and how shadows look.
We practiced counting height of flowers and wrote the number. We also practice writing the entire alphabet and familiar numbers.
Sink or float? Ask me about our experiment!
Movement time this morning was dancing!
Crowns was our art project with new marker pens!
We worked together and made a long train track, too!
"How does it feel?" was a concept game we introduced about textures. The items were hidden in the box and we had to use our sense of touch to describe and guess what the item was.
"Wacky Wednesday" was a funny book, so many things were wrong!
We also used magnets to move our marbles around to make a picture with paint!
Climbing the mountain and running around the gym is always fun!
SHOW -N- TELL - Roman showed a digger, Olivia showed a rainbow long tailed fox and Matthew showed his black stuffed dog.
"Weather" is the topic we started talking about today. We brainstormed diverse types of weather and how the weather depends on 2 things: how the air feels and how the sky looks.
PIZZA PARTY!! We played the game, Pizza Pile Up. It was game day Friday so we took turns playing the game, rolling the dice, finding out what topping we earned and how to place the toppings so the crust didn't topple over. Lots of strategic planning!!!
Have a wonderful weekend! Warmer weather looks to come next week!
