Doctor/Valentine's Day

Happy Wednesday! Today we started out by patterning Valentine's items.

We worked on cutting nurse's tools and sorting them into the correct grouping, and tracing numbers after we counted hearts.

"Itchy Itchy Chicken Pox" was a book about how rashes sometimes can be itchy and what we do about a rash. We made our own rashes on our person in math. We rolled the dice and counted the chicken pox.
.

We also read "The Bad Case of Stripes". It was a silly book about how a little girl didn't feel well and her body changed from different colored stripes to American Flag stripes to rainbow stripes, etc. Lima beans fixed the 'bad case of stripes'!
Roll and grab pom poms was a fun math game! We rolled the dice and had to use tongs to grab the correct number of pom poms.

Caterpillar names were our literacy activity.

"What is missing?" was the game we played at circle. Ms. Erin took doctor tools and we hid our eyes then she took one away and we had to guess which one was missing. We were able to practice our vocabulary.

We cut hearts and valentine animals out to glue on our hearts. We are increasing the amount of writing and cutting we are doing in class.

We also traced or wrote doctor words.

"Valentine's Day" was about Valentine's Day and how to celebrate it. We made a special project after the book, too.
We practiced rhyming words and read "Should I Share My Ice Cream?" We have been focusing on appropriate ways to share and request toys from friends.
