DOCTOR
"What doesn't belong?" is the game we played in math. We practiced identifying category names and groups.
"Going to the Doctor" was a good book to learn about doctors and their tools. We talked about why we go to the doctor and what happens when we get to the doctor's office.
We looked in the doctor bag and saw all the different tools a doctor may use.
Making words and matching alphabet pictures to the correct letter were good practice to learn the alphabet and letter sounds.
"Have you ever been sick?" was the question of the day. Fish friends shared how they have been sick and what happens.
In music we danced, sang and played instruments!
"M" is our letter this week. We practiced making "M" with our big lines and on our chalk boards.
FISH ROOM DOCTOR OFFICE IS NOW OPEN! We took turns being the doctor, receptionist and patient.
We worked really hard on cutting, coloring in the lines and matching shapes. We also counted snowflakes.
"Dr. Desoto" was about a mouse that was a dentist. Most of his patients, like the fox, were bigger then him so he had to use a ladder to get into their mouths. The book talked about how the dentist treated a sneaky fox that was dangerous to mice. Ask me what happened.
"M" is our letter this week so we made mice.
SNOW much fun!!
In art we watched a video about Jean-Michel Basquiat and made crowns like him.
We painted both sides of the crown.
Creation station is always fun!
We worked on building our names, sorting good food vs. bad food and writing valentine's words.
"Calliou goes to the Doctor" and "Daniel Tiger goes to the Doctor" were good short videos to show us reasons why we may go to the doctor and review reasons we may have to visit the doctor. We stopped along the way to discuss doctor's visits and answer a variety of questions.
In math we rolled dice and dotted the correct number on the tooth.
We reviewed Dr. Desoto and answered a variety of -wh questions about the story, problem, what happened at the beginning and what happened at the end.
We dotted the correct letter when we heard the letter sound at the beginning of the word Ms. Erin said.
