Holidays, part 2
Riddle Me This: Describe the picture riddle game was fun! We looked at pictures and had to listen the description to guess what picture Ms. Erin was talking about.
We worked on letter sounds and recognition. A letter was called and we had to find it then color the ornament the correct color. We also cut out dreidels and glued them on paper to practice cutting skills.
Patterning holiday vocabulary was our circle time activity.
Making letters and shapes with our lines and curves on the light table was fun.
We took turns playing teacher and described pictures to our friends using 3 clues and they had to guess which picture we were talking about. This practiced listening to one another, recognizing vocabulary, and describing an item.
"What is the missing number?" is a great game to play. Patience, number recognition, counting, and critical thinking are all skills involved.
THURSDAY:
Light table letters was a blast!
We worked really hard cutting out Christmas pictures and made a collage!
SECOND STEPS:
Feeling mad or angry is okay, but using our bodies and hitting or kicking is not okay along with saying mean things. Li was mad because kids knocked down his tower. His face shows he is angry and that's okay because he uses his words.
Syllables is the skill we are working on this week. Clapping the word out helps us. We colored the light with the correct number of syllables.
We also cut out trees and put them in order by height(size). We counted how many triangles each tree had and placed them correctly.
Counting trees was good math practice.
Play dough snowmen was fun to make!
Legos are a fish favorite!
It's Friday!
SHOW-N-TELL: Olivia, Matthew and Roman brought in tricky show n tell items. We asked a lot of questions to figure out what they had in their backpacks.
The water table in the big room is back on! We had a splashin' good time!
Beading pipe cleaner candy canes was a great fine motor activity! We are having a gift exchange with our Bluebird class. We made gifts for them.
Diamond, duck, dinosaur, dice and many D words made our letter "D" very colorful and help us listen to beginning sounds.
"Stitch and sew" is what the shoemakers do! We practiced being shoe makers and sewing (lacing) our own shoes.
