Thursday and Friday
Happy Friday! Have a good weekend!
Ryan and Matthew compared the height of their towers. Shawn and Roman built tall towers also. Fine motor practice at it's best!
Olivia enjoyed making rainbow patterns.
SECOND STEPS: This week we talked about focusing our attention. We discussed how having watching eyes and listening ears lets another person know we are listening to them.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY ROMAN! We made him a cake and sang "happy birthday"!
We worked on big, medium and small. We cut out paw prints, put them in order from big-small and glued them on paper.
In math, we stamped the correct number on the page labeled with a numeral.
"The more you read the more things you'll know, the more that you learn the more places you'll go."-Dr. Seuss
This morning we went in to Otters and participated in an in-service. We told them about our awesome hearing aids and cochlear implants! Ms. Erin read a book and even let them hear what it would sound like if they had a CI. The fish friends did a superb job advocating for themselves and talking about how their devices help them hear. This skill will be so important this year and in kindergarten.
This afternoon we bought more pets and supplies at the pet shop. We practiced the sequence of deciding on a pet, determining the materials we need, and checking out.
We also played "Guess Who?" pet style. We took turns being the teacher and describing the pet we wanted our peers to guess.
During snack we brainstormed "T" words.
Today is National Custodian's Day. We made pictures for Rosie and Alicia to thank them for their hard work.
We also built towers and robots with legos.
Can you believe it's already October!?
SHOW-N-TELL: We asked a lot of good questions to figure out our friends show-n-tell (who gave it to you, what size is it, how does it feel, how do you play with it, etc). Olivia brought a teddy bear, Matthew brought Buzz Light year and Roman brought a trash truck with trash cans.
We took the pet supples and played a "what's missing?" game. We listed all the supplies then closed our eyes and had to guess what Ms. Erin took away from the group.
" Visual Discrimination" is the concept we learned during math. One picture was different then the others and we had to tell which one was different and why.
"Zingo"! was a fun game!
We brainstormed "T" words today and glued them to the letter T. We also made our own letter T's.
