Pumpkins
Pumpkins was the theme we introduced this week! We earned a fish party, so PJ day is tomorrow and Thursday is wear your favorite color day!
In journals, we drew how we would carve our Jack-o-laterns.
The fish friends took turns designing our jack-o-latern.
We brainstormed things to make with pumpkins, how pumpkins grow, what is in the inside of a pumpkin and where we would find pumpkins.
We used words like "slimy, nasty, and cold" to describe the inside of a pumpkin.
Seeds, it's where it all begins.
We completed a shared writing about our thoughts on pumpkins. We used a complete sentence and had to listen to each other's ideas.
"Do you have a pumpkin at home?" was the question of the day we took asking each other.
Shawn and Ryan enjoyed working hard on puzzles.
Ms. Julianne sang "Make new friends" with us and we twirled in a circle with friends, we also each played a xylophone piece.
In math, we drew the correct number of apple seeds by the apple number.
We also played "Go Fish"! Asking questions, patience, taking turns and matching are concepts we focused on in this game.
This afternoon we continued picking apples and pumpkins from our orchard and pumpkin patch and read "Big Pumpkin".
We also cut up our names on a pumpkin then glued the letters in order.
TUESDAY:
In art we made pumpkins and painted them orange by mixing red and yellow.
The boys love pushing the tractors and dump trucks around outside.
Rhyming bean bags are a fun way to learn rhyming words.
Handwriting without tears: we made the letter P and made pink pigs.
Pumpkin time! We cut the top off our pumpkin and scooped out the guts today. Tomorrow we will vote on what face we want to carve in our pumpkin.
It's not a trick, it's a treat, Ms. Erin's family is growing by 2 feet! Little Pumpkin due April 2022.
