Pumpkins, part 2
Roman is star student of the week!
STARFALL: We made our pumpkins into jack o laterns today,
The fish friends picked shapes to carve our pumpkin face.
Ms. Amy worked on finding the letter P, number 4, one to one correspondence with pumpkin counting and size ordering big to small pumpkins.
Today is "Apple Crunch Day" we each picked out an apple to eat and took pictures.
Shaving cream with red and yellow paint make an orange pumpkin! Using our finger nail, we made shapes, letters and number in the shaving cream.
"5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate" was not only a song, we used our fists to make pumpkins!
Painting jack -o-laterns was fun!
Acting out "Big Pumpkin" was fun! Ms. Amy read the book as we acted it out. Ask me how the story goes!
We brainstormed a lot of "P" words!
THURSDAY:
Today we got to watch and sing along with "Have you ever seen a pumpkin?"
We worked on the number 4 and making a fall collage. We cut out fall leaves, pumpkins, apples, a scarecrow and more to create our collage!
"Spookly the Square Pumpkin" was our book for conversational language.
"The 10:21 great shake out earth quake" was easy for us!
In math, we play pumpkin play dough. Not only is this a fun math activity but we learned turn taking, being patient, and measuring. We also discussed what ingredients you need to make play dough.
Rhyming: we matched objects with their rhyming word on the mat.
Pink pigs start with the letter "P" on star fall. Then we traced and wrote the letter P.
FRIDAY: In calendar, we counted all the way up to 22.
Show-n-tell: Ryan brought a long truck and Shawn brought a bird and cheetah stuffed animal.
Science: we did a "sink or float" experiment. We predicted which items would sink and which items would float. Ask me what objects we tried!
In math, we clipped the clip on the correct number to match the how many pumpkins there were on each card.
We also worked on rhyming words. We matched pumpkins that rhymed together.
