Tuesday and Wednesday
This week we started the theme "All About Me" and "The 5 Senses". We popped popcorn today and learned about how we can use all 5 senses to hear, taste, see and smell popcorn!
Our question of the day was "what kind of hair do you have?". We took turns asking each other what kind of hair we have and had to pick a picture. Words targeted were: curly, straight, black, brown, blonde, white, long, short
Roman and Matthew enjoyed puzzles.
In journals, we colored self portraits of ourselves. We had to use the correct colors of our skin, hair, eyes and clothes.
In art, we finished our lines pictures by adding white crayon and water colors.
When our project is done we can build with blocks or play with kinetic sand.
In math, Ms. Lexi made play dough with us. We focused on measurements and remembering the ingredients that we need.
We decided to make it red play dough!
BUBBLES!
We found a chrysalis on the playground. Hopefully nobody touches it and we can see what happens.
We read "Creepy Pair of Underwear".
In handwriting without tears, we made the letter "L" with our big lines and little lines. We brainstormed words that start with the letter L.
In math, we sorted items into the correct senses category.
We tasted different items today and had to describe it. One item was sour (lemon), one was spicy (hot sauce), one was sweet (chocolate chips) and one was salty (pretzels).
Ms. Lexi read a book about "Taste".
Ms. Amy played a matching rhyming game with us and 5 senses game with us. We had to match what went together correctly.
Ms. Amy is "star of the week" this week. You will receive more information in the next few weeks about when your child is star of the week and what that entails.
Independent work: we each graphed the correct items into the correct scent slot.

This afternoon we made the cutest self portraits!
In handwriting without tears, we used play dough to make the letters Ms. Erin made on the chalk board. We practiced using big lines, little lines, big curves, and little curves.
